"Great writers can find ways to write without cursing." This is true. But here's a quote from the late Christopher Hitchens that shows a memorable and appropriate use of the word "fuck". He's referring to the biblical story where god asks Abraham to sacrifice his own son.

"My three delightful children are my only chance of at a second life, or even an immortal one. And I'll tell you something; if I was told to sacrifice them to prove my devotion to God and admire the man who said, "Yes, I'll GUT MY KID to show my love of God." I'd say, No... FUCK YOU!"

There are some appropriate uses of the word. But they are rare.
